Every game is simple to understand. You don't need a background in any particular sport to walk in and compete.
About CGL
Competitive Games League (CGL) is a student-founded competition company started by a team at Emory University. We share an interest in games, sports, strategy, and competition.
Our goal
We want to build a competition anyone can enter that is still intense and skill-based enough to make winning mean something.
A CGL tournament brings a large group of players together to compete in a series of original games. Each round is a different challenge that tests athleticism, strategy, coordination, decision-making, accuracy, or composure under pressure. Players are eliminated round by round until one competitor is left.
Why we built it
Most competitive environments ask for years of training in one sport or game before you can seriously take part. We're building a place where people from different backgrounds can show up, compete right away, find out what they're good at, and feel what real competition is like.
Every game is simple to understand. You don't need a background in any particular sport to walk in and compete.
How you perform decides where you finish. Winning a CGL tournament is earned.
The challenge changes every round. Winners are the players who adjust fastest, not just the ones who specialize.
A big field, a live crowd, and a shared experience. Players come for the prize money and stay for the people.
Founded at Emory University
CGL was started by a team of Emory University students. We bring together different backgrounds in sports, strategy games, and competition, and we're building the kind of tournament we'd want to play in ourselves.
